It’s all happening in Galway in 2020. This scenic and friendly county located on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way has been nominated as European Capital of Culture for 2020 and is about to host the largest ever festival on the island of Ireland. A yearlong programme of events has been organised that will be hosted not only in the bustling city of Galway, but in villages, towns and islands off the Galway coast. The festival themes will focus on the landscape and language, making Galway the perfect base for such an event. Areas such as Clifden, Connemara and the Aran Islands showcase Ireland’s stunning natural beauty and Connemara’s Gaeltacht region with its wealth of history, heritage and culture highlights why the Irish language is so special and the importance of keeping traditions alive. To join in the celebrations, head to Galway to experience a year of music, dance, theatre, literature, visual arts, food events and much, much more…
