'The Giant’s Journey' Limerick City Of Culture 2014

When planning your trip to Ireland this September, I recommend that you put Limerick City of Culture 2014 on your places to visit list. Something truly special is taking place from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th September and you really don’t want to miss it!  The world-famous street theatre company, Royal de Luxe, are the city’s headline event of the year and they will be bringing their amazing ‘The Giant’s Journey’ saga to this historic city. There’s going to be three days and nights of wonderful free family entertainment.

Royal de Luxe

Royal de Luxe are considered the pioneers of street theatre. The company, founded by Jean-Luc Courcoult, have performed their spectacle ‘The Saga of the Giants’ to over 18 million spectators in 40 different countries throughout the world. Now they are coming to Limerick City of Culture and you have a chance to be part of the adventure. Big friendly giant characters will move through the streets of Limerick aided by lots of Lilliputian helpers, telling a story that has been developed and tailored specifically to Limerick.  Over the course of the three day celebrations, you will be taken on a unique and spectacular journey.

Shannon Airport

Shannon Airport is only 25km from Limerick City, which is a mere 25 minute drive.  You can fly into Shannon Airport from Britain, the US and mainland Europe.  Limerick City is situated on the beautiful River Shannon in the heart of the Midwest of Ireland. It is a hub of social and recreational activities and home to historic landmarks such as King John’s Castle and the magnificent Hunt Museum.  The city is also a great base for touring the county of Limerick and bed and breakfasts are the ideal choice of accommodation. Danabel Porridge Bread Recipe

I started making my Porridge Bread about a year ago. It was so popular with guests that I carried on making it. Now, I make it everyday and leave it on the breakfast table for my guests to help themselves. I am always complimented on how tasty it is. The wonderful thing about this recipe is that it is so easy to prepare, yet so delicious!
