A Taste of Donegal Food Festival

Celebrate great food and drink throughout this great three day event from 22nd August  to 24th August 2014. This will all take place in a beautiful tented village on the Pier in Donegal Town. Referred to recently as “A FAIRYTALE OF A PLACE” and named No 6 in the annual Travellers Choice awards for destinations in Ireland.

A Taste of Donegal  is the most looked forward to, enjoyed and favourite food festival by foodie lovers hosted in the North West. This event brings together Celebrity & Local Chef Demonstrations, expert masterclasses, Exhibitor stands, Entertainment and Competitions. You will have the opportunity to taste and purchase some of the finest food and drink some of which is award winning and local, ranging from healthy to slightly harmful to the waistline. Experience Celebrity Chefs create sumptuous dishes with dedicated flair from the very best of local fresh produce that the area has to offer.

If you want to improve your skills in Bread & Pastry making, Cocktail Shaking, make the correct choice in Wine and Beer to compliment your meal, why not take advantage from masterclasses taking part in the the demonstration area over the three days. While you browse your way through 100 plus Exhibitor stands you will be taken back in time with nostalgic melodies from Adrian Cullen of the Dean Martin Tribute Show and Latin classical tunes from Havanna Club Trio.

Food Tourism is well and truly evident at this  event which is completely family orientated. Two of Disney’s best loved characters Mickey and Minnie will also make guest appearances so make sure and take the children along. The minute the festival opens its doors a truly gourmet showcase experience awaits you!! As in past years huge numbers are anticipated so make sure to book your B&B Accommodation.

At West Coast House B&B you can taste Achill Island Smoked Salmon

When you stay at West Coast House on Achill Island in County Mayo, you will have the opportunity to taste the island’s delicacy of smoked salmon.  The salmon is reared in pristine waters off Clare Island/Achill and is prepared and oak smoked at Keem Bay Fish Products, which is just 0.4km from our bed and breakfast.

Danabel Porridge Bread Recipe

I started making my Porridge Bread about a year ago. It was so popular with guests that I carried on making it. Now, I make it everyday and leave it on the breakfast table for my guests to help themselves. I am always complimented on how tasty it is. The wonderful thing about this recipe is that it is so easy to prepare, yet so delicious!
