The TripAdvisor Award of Excellence

Abbey Lee B&B have just received the Certificate of Excellence award from TripAdvisor. The Award celebrates hospitality excellence and is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor. The achievement is very much based on customer satisfaction which is why Mike and Marie pride themselves on insuring an all round accommodation experience. This is the second year in a row that Abbey Lee have claimed the Excellence Award and it would come as no surprise from reading the many positive reviews of their home:

‘Sweetest people in the world run this B & B. Mike and Marie made us feel at home from the moment we darkened their doorway. Not only were they sweet and helpful, but absolutely two of the nicest people you would want to meet. We had such fun there. The room was great and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious!‘

Mike and Marie’s home is ideally located in the suburbs of Galway City. A short bus ride will bring you to the buzzing city where you can soak up the atmosphere of one of Ireland’s most popular destinations. A pleasant walk in the opposite direction will lead you to the seaside promenade of Salthill where guests can enjoy a relaxing walk along the coast or enjoy a swim in the bay. While staying at Abbey Lee Bed and Breakfast you are guaranteed the best tour advice available from Mike and Marie and learn how to make Marie’s delicious homemade brown bread and fruit breads.

After serving 30 years with The Gardai, Mike along with his wife decided to sell their house, buy a plot of land and build Abbey Lee Bed and Breakfast. Both take charge of the day to day running of the B&B and in their spare time if they are not tending to the stunning garden to the back of the home, you will find them enjoying a walk along Salthill.

If you’re planning a getaway break in the tribal city of Galway why not choose a Bed and Breakfast and experience hospitality that goes above and beyond. Get the best tour advice from Mike and Marie and learn how to make Marie’s delicious homemade brown bread and fruit breads.

At West Coast House B&B you can taste Achill Island Smoked Salmon

When you stay at West Coast House on Achill Island in County Mayo, you will have the opportunity to taste the island’s delicacy of smoked salmon.  The salmon is reared in pristine waters off Clare Island/Achill and is prepared and oak smoked at Keem Bay Fish Products, which is just 0.4km from our bed and breakfast.

Danabel Porridge Bread Recipe

I started making my Porridge Bread about a year ago. It was so popular with guests that I carried on making it. Now, I make it everyday and leave it on the breakfast table for my guests to help themselves. I am always complimented on how tasty it is. The wonderful thing about this recipe is that it is so easy to prepare, yet so delicious!
