Family Staycation in Ireland

Its summer time in Ireland and what better way to spend time with family and friends than to experience a B&B Staycation. Believe it or not there is so much to see and do, whether it’s an adventure cycling on the great western green way or surfing on Kerry’s diverse coastline you won’t be disappointed with the vast choice of B&B’s on offer.

Fun on the farm

If you want to give the family a break from the hustle and bustle of city life then an introduction to farm life in Ireland is just the answer. So many wonderful B&B’s in Ireland are located on working farms. You and the kids can get up close and personal with all the farm animals or simply take a wander through the fields and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Surf’s Up / On yer Bike – Activity Holidays

Many B&Bs have become specialists in a range of exciting activity holidays, meaning you can base yourself in the one spot and really feed your passion for adventure. Your B&B host will provide secure facilities with shelves, hangers, and wall hooks for the drying and storage of bicycles, surfboards and outdoor adventure clothing.

B&B Experience

B&B hosts are renowned for their skills in the kitchen. So from the moment you arrive, you’ll be treated to some of the finest home cooking you will ever taste. Breads, scones, jams, fine evening meals on request in many establishments, it’s about real food in the hands of real experts.

Enjoy a fantastic breakfast of “The Full Irish” or go for something lighter like homemade blueberry pancakes or smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. It will leave you ready for the day ahead. With budgets to suit everyone you can choose a townhouse, country home, farmhouse or historic home – your B&B staycation awaits.

Danabel Porridge Bread Recipe

I started making my Porridge Bread about a year ago. It was so popular with guests that I carried on making it. Now, I make it everyday and leave it on the breakfast table for my guests to help themselves. I am always complimented on how tasty it is. The wonderful thing about this recipe is that it is so easy to prepare, yet so delicious!
