There is no better place to celebrate St Patrick’s Day than in Ireland. Every city, town and village on March 17th will produce fantastic festivals that all the family will enjoy. With every parade as unique as the next, it is hard to choose which to attend, but here are my 5 best places in Ireland to enjoy St Patrick’s Day.

Dublin City

St Patrick’s Day festival in Dublin City runs from the 15th to 19th March and is a spectacular event. There is so much going on from street theatre, treasure hunts and a huge Céilí to free workshops, guided history walks and live entertainment. Organisations from all over the world travel to Ireland to take part in the Dublin parade, which is an extraveganza of floats, bands and dance that will amaze you!

Home of St Patrick’s Festival runs for 10 days from 9th to 17th March and is a festival dedicated to the achievements of the patron saint of Ireland around themed events including walks, talks, plays, music, dance, song and endless fun-filled activities. Interestingly, Armagh has two cathedrals that bear St Patrick's name in celebration of his life, legacy and mission.
