Walking and Adventure Holidays in Ireland

Now that summer has finally arrived, its time to inhale the fresh air as you walk over green hills and valleys with an adventure or walking holiday in Ireland. Ireland offers so many wonderful walking and hiking routes that you will be spoilt for choice, combine this with some local advice from your B&B host on the “must sees” and “hidden gems” and the island is yours to explore. If you are more of an adventurer, why not try your hand at surfing, kayaking, cycling or horse–riding.

Walking Holidays in Ireland

You could not be further removed from the hustle and bustle of life than experiencing the incredible array of coastal, looped or linear walks in Ireland. A more relaxed way marked trail, such as the Offaly Way, is designed to suit all abilities which can be walked at your own pace. Take spots like the purple-hued Wicklow Mountains or County Down’s epic Mourne Mountains and you’re in hiking heaven. Seal the experience by laying your head in one of the local B&B’s which are located in towns, villages and countryside location throughout all of Ireland. With some local advice from your B&B host, your stroll will soon turn to an adventure. Many of the B&B homes offer super storage, early breakfast (on request) and packed lunches and emergency rain gear. Your walking retreat awaits!

Adventure Holiday in Ireland

Ireland is known for its great outdoors and while it’s exciting to chase an adventure, it’s always nice when your B&B hosts can direct you to the hottest abseiling spots, the biggest waves or the most challenging mountain trails. The Great Western Greenway in Co Mayo boosts a 42km traffic free cycling route or if you are a keen surfer, Ireland’s waves are among the finest in Europe. Think horse-riding on Cleggan Beach in Connemara, breaking waves in Clare and kayaking in Kerry. Your adventure starts here.

Danabel Porridge Bread Recipe

I started making my Porridge Bread about a year ago. It was so popular with guests that I carried on making it. Now, I make it everyday and leave it on the breakfast table for my guests to help themselves. I am always complimented on how tasty it is. The wonderful thing about this recipe is that it is so easy to prepare, yet so delicious!
