At West Coast House B&B you can taste Achill Island Smoked Salmon

When you stay at West Coast House B&B on Achill Island in County Mayo, you will have the opportunity to taste the island’s delicacy of smoked salmon.  The salmon is reared in pristine waters off Clare Island/Achill and is prepared and oak smoked at Keem Bay Fish Products, which is just 0.4km from our bed and breakfast.

Achill Island

JJ and I are so lucky to live on this beautiful island and have locally produced foods that we can serve to guests as part of the unique food experiences of Achill. We provide an array of breakfast options, but our locally sourced salmon will always be on the menu. We like to serve it with scrambled eggs as it is a very popular choice with guests. It is also delicious served with our homemade brown bread!

Food is not the only delight that you will experience when staying at West Coast House. Our home is in an amazing location on Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way and offers spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. The seascapes are the perfect start to any day. After a restful nights’ sleep and a delicious breakfast, you will be ready to venture out and explore our beautiful island.

Keem Bay

There’s so much to explore in Achill and I will be delighted to advise you on the local sights. We have five Blue Flag beaches including Keem Bay, a local beach that has been listed among 10 of the most breath-taking beaches in the world. We also have some wonderful walking trails on our doorstep and for the more energetic, a hike up Croaghaun Mountain will reward you with magnificent panoramic views. Achill is a fantastic place for cycling and there’s no end of fun water-sports to try.
