The 20th Commonwealth Games kicked off last night with a spectacular opening ceremony in Glasgow with thousands of athletes from 71 nations and territories taking part. The Games will feature 17 sports across 11 days of competition, beginning on Thursday.24 July.

This Friday, Taoiseach Enda Kenny is set to reopen the doors of Lissadell House in County Sligo to the public after five years of legal dispute. Owners of the ancestral home, Eddie Walsh and Constance Cassidy have been influenced by their seven children and well wishers throughout the legal battle to pick up where they left off and continue their vision for the Estate.
