Since its beginning in 2003, the Dublin International Film Festival (DIFF) has fast become Ireland’s premier feature film festival. The showcasing of the films takes place in all of Dublin City Centre’s cinemas, including The Savoy, the Irish Film Institute and Cineworld. Running from 2nd February - 2th March, the festival is a celebration of everything that’s great about the world of film, and sets out to appreciate all different genres, including archival, documentary and feature films.

Global Stars

This annual festival attracts big crowds from all around the world with its huge range of film premieres, of which many are Irish films. What’s more, the festival has become an excellent opportunity for communication between the filmmakers and the audience, with its public interviews, question and answer sessions and panel discussions. In the past, many global stars have graced the DIFF red carpet, including Liam Neeson, Charlize Theron and Daniel Day Lewis.

The Voltra Awards

As well as the array of fantastic films, the festival also hosts The Volta Awards in order to recognise admirable individuals that have made outstanding contributions to the world of film. So whether you are a film buff, have an interest in the making of films or just simply want to experience something a little different, the Dublin International Film Festival promises to keep you entertained!
