Eileen Joyce's Success Story

"I have been welcoming guests to my B&B for 25 years and this is the busiest year yet."

I run my B&B with my husband Michael and our family. We are the third generation of Joyce's in Springview House. We are Dairy and Angus beef farmers working 130 acres of prime Kilkenny farmland.

I love being a host and have been doing it since 1992. Meeting people from all over the world, adding to their holiday in Ireland by giving them the Irish home experience is what keeps me going in the very busy days of the peak holiday season.

I joined Irish Farmhouse Holidays many years ago - now B&B Ireland, for the support and sense of comradery that the organisation provides. How we all do business has changed so much over the years but that sense of inclustion and support is very important and is still there in our membership organisation.

I love the guests that come from B&B Ireland, they are the 'true visitor', they want what I provide. I hosted thousands of visitors over the years and am very proud of the reviews I received. When I was awarded B&B of the year, the phones rang off the hook, the email inbox overflowing... busy doesn't quite cut it when describing the weeks after the award.

B&B Ireland has supported me in running my business, provided me with the guests I want, and gives me the worldwide exposure that I can't reach on my own.

I opened Gallow's View in May 1988 intending to try it out for a short period of time, depending on how it went. I must have done something right as 30 years later, I'm still doing it!
