Carmel was the best from the moment we drove until the moment we left. She greeted us with her warm and welcoming smile. Showed us to our room that was upstairs in the front of the house with a beautiful porch to sit out on.
The room was very comfortable and lots of space.
Carmel was very accommodating for my dietary needs (Celiac). My husband had the Irish Breakfast every morning.
She gave us some tips on local restaurants.
We were there for 5 nights. We toured Carrick-0n-Shannon, Lough Rynn Castle and drove around Mohill where my grandparents lived in the late 1800's and early 1900's. It was an experience of a life time. Avondale house was the best.

I cannot say enough about our wonderful host and accommodations. From the second we arrived, she welcomed us with open arms. I’ve never stayed at a b&b even in the states so this was a first and was just as I had imagined. The accommodations were clean, comfortable and within walking distance to one of the towns pubs. Breakfast was delicious; our two night stay was not enough and we’ll be back for sure!

Lovely B&B- clean, comfortable room and excellent breakfast! Carmel was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our visit to Boyd Abbey and thought Roosky was a charming town. Definitely recommend this stay.

All nice and clean, and very good food. Carmel was very kind and welcoming and we enjoyed our chats with her. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Parking was great.
We like the walk around the canal loop and saw bullfinches nearby. Strokestown was a fantastic visit and we loved the droll humour of the guide in the house. Strokestown garden was gorgeous. Carrick on Shannon - saw the tiny chapel there!
