Lovely grounds. Marguerite was very accommodating. It was a little difficult for us to find and a little further out of town than we realized. The room was also a little small. We know this is the innkeeper's home and understand they will be cooking for themselves but when we arrived the smell of cooked fish in the house was quite strong and nearly made me ill. That is something to be aware of.

mr and mrs beresheim-I reply to your review I wish to state the following-.. 1-this property is not difficult to find ,it is all well signposted and only one minutes drive from Skibbereen.. 2-Your room was not small..You got the largest room I have on offer ,a room with two double beds and ensuite. 3-I am making no apology for cooking dinner in my family home..and the house is large-your room was at the other end of the house away from kitchen so the aroma of cooking should not bother you.In actual fact guests always love the smell of baking fresh breads and dinners being cooked. That I am proud of.. Perhaps an apartment is what suits you best without atmosphere..

This experience set the tone for our honeymoon! She was not only adorable, but the SWEETEST lady. Breakfast was amazing, and she had handmade hats, scarves and sweaters available for purchase. Exactly the one of a kind, usable takehome I was looking for. Wore my hat the entire rest of the trip. When we come back, we will DEFINITELY book here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Marguerite's in Skibbereen. Marguerite is a charming host and accommodations were comfortable clean and modern. The grounds and gardens show a green thumb and pride in hard work. Breakfast was great. We will be back.

This was our second year at Marguerites. As expected the welcome was as warm as last year. Food is superb.Rooms are clean & tidy & quite well equipped. Marguerite is a superb hostess & nothing is too much trouble - like meeting up with an old friend. Hopefully we'll be back next year (well we wouldn't go to any other B & B)

Host's Reply:
Kelvyn and Maureen - thank you sincerely for your kind words. It was a pleasure to accommodate you both again this year. Looking forward to seeing you again next year, keep up the walking!Love Marguerite.
