A 4-star, purpose-built, luxury bed and breakfast in the heart of pretty Gurteen village, guests can unwind surrounded by County Sligo’s beautiful landscape. The house is close the Coleman Traditional Irish Music Centre, where visitors can discover Ireland’s musical culture and heritage, and the distinctive playing of Sligo’s own Michael Coleman - an early 20th century fiddle player. Guests can also fish on serene Lough Gara, ride horses nearby and explore ancient Moygara Castle just 3km away.

How to get here

From Dublin: Take the N4 to Boyle, then take R294 to Gurteen.

From Sligo town: Take N4 to Collooney, at the roundabout take N17 to Tubbercurry. Turn left at the square and take R294 to Gurteen (alternatively take R293 via Ballymote).

We had a great and comfortable room with all necessary accommodations. The breakfast was wonderful and was made with a maximum of fondness. Our landlady was extremely friendly and helpful. So, all in all, a wonderful stay, our first days in Ireland

We had an excellent stay! The room was very nice; clean, spacious, and comfortable. Jacci was extremely nice and professional. Breakfast was really good! The town is quaint; there's an excellent pub(Dapper Duck) with a very authentic feel and good food. One of the most pleasant experiences we had in a very pleasant and lovely country. Thanks Jacci!

Jacci was a wonderful host! She made great breakfast, was very accommodating, and had great suggestions for things to do in the area. The room was clean, comfortable, and plenty large enough for us and our things.

Cinema, Sligo: The 12 screen Cineplex in the heart of Sligo offers all the latest releases to the silver screen.
Coleman Irish Music Centre, Gurteen: The Michael Coleman Heritage Centre draws together the many strands of the South Sligo musical traditional. The main building is a focal point for the living tradition, for which the area is so rightly famous and houses a theatre, a large audio-visual display on South Sligo, its music and the life of Michael Coleman. Interactive touch-screen facilities provide information on traditional music and instruments and a selection of music preformed by local musicians. Well-known exponents of the south Sligo style of traditional music give classes in a wide variety of instruments. A few miles west of Gurteen is the Coleman home which was integral in the development of traditional music in the area.A music archive, one of the most important elements of the whole project, is housed here.
Eagles flying, Ballymote : Experience some of the biggest birds of prey flying right over your head. Watch different species of eagles, hawks and falcons hunt on prey dummies in a natural environment.

Lough Gara Lake: Moygara Castle a 16th Century Castle overlooking Lough Gara (a great spot for fishing) that was once the principal home of the O' Gara clan. Over 300 crannog sites were found in the lake in the 1950's when the lakes were drained!
Lough Key Forest Park, Boyle: This legendary backdrop of water, parkland and forest now encompasses a landmark cluster of unique attractions offering gentle leisurely pursuits of energetic activities.
Tubbercurry Golf club: This picturesque 9 hole golf course offers an excellent golfing challenge which comes as standard in our 6200 yard Parkland course which is nestled at the foot of the Ox Mountains. We have full clubhouse facilities with a friendly and informal atmosphere.
