The view was amazing. It was close to town, and Ann gave us the name of a good restaurant. She gave us great directions when we were leaving. The room was comfortable but nothing out of the ordinary.

Beautiful setting. Close to town. Unfortunately the TV in our room didnt work, and the electric was off at 9am so we had to get up, shower and have breakfast earlier than we would have hoped for a day off.

What a lovely setting! Kirk and I enjoyed our stay at Currane Lodge. We were there for one night and the accommodations were great, Ann's warmth what we had come to expect of the charming Irish we met all over the country. Breakfast was delicious. And, the Ring of Kerry is a must do!

We stayed with Ann and her family only one night while traveling the Ring of Kerry. The rural setting with cattle and sheep out the front window of the Breakfast Room with amazing views of Lough Currane and the mountains on the opposite shore were very satisfying. We chatted at length about the fact that so many tourists breeze through the Ring of Kerry to check it off their bucket list and move on to the next stop. In doing so, one truly misses not only the quaint setting at Currane Lodge, but also the chance to get to know the people who live here. Ann's recommendation of the Five Spice Restaurant in Waterville was great and led to another encounter with the proprietor who chose to bring his taste for Thai and Malaysian food to this out-of=the-way place. Our brief stay was truly memorable because of the opportunities for interaction with the locals so often missed by tour operators. We heartily recommend Currane Lodge and will return in the future.
