Teach an Easard Country House is located in the wild and scenic region of Ballyconneely, County Galway. The award-winning family-run bed and breakfast specialises in providing guests with a homely rural experience. Guests will be welcomed on their arrival by the owners, Joe and Carmel Joyce, who will be glad to assist them in any way to make their stay as enjoyable as possible. All rooms are spacious and elegantly designed with attractive features to match the general style of the house. The bright spacious surroundings of the dining room make it the perfect place to start the morning in Connemara.

How to get here

From Galway City take the N59 to Clifden. From there continue on to Ballyconneey (7km) in the village stay right on the golf course road, house is 1km on the left.

Carmel and her family were kind and hospitable. So friendly and helpful. Their home is the quintessential BnB- elegant, beautifully appointed, and still so homey. Her Irish breakfasts were delicious and so welcome to start the chilly days. Tea pots and all the trimmings lent themselves to warm and cozy nights. The location, along the Wild Atlantic Way, is ruggedly beautiful and a very short distance from Clifden town proper. Wonderful food, sights, and fellowship. Someday, I will return to Clifden as I fell in love the rugged beauty and Carmel's lovely home.

Connemara Golf Links: Golfers are in for a real treat when they take to the Connemara Golf Links fairways. This 27 hole Championship course is not only positioned along the magnificent west coast of Connemara, offering views of the wild Atlantic Ocean and 12 Bens Mountain range, but is also ranked as the highest golf course in Galway. A memorable day's golfing is guarantee.
Fishing: West Connemara is a fisherman’s dream location and our home is the ideal base for an angling break. Not only are there an abundance of lakes and rivers that are perfect for fresh water fishing, but Lough Fadda, a popular Brown Trout lake is adjacent to our farming land which includes an access road to the lake. If you prefer deep sea fishing, you can take a trip out to the high sea for a day’s fishing adventure with one of the many boat operators in the region. We will be able to guide you in relation to your fishing expeditions.
The Sky Road : This scenic drive is famous for its magnificent views. The route takes you up along the high road where you can overlook the spectacular Clifden Bay and its offshore islands of Inishturk and Turbot. You can return to Clifden via the low road. Along the route you can climb Monument Hill and enjoy more scenic splendour. The drive takes approximately 14.5kms to complete.
Walking and Hiking: Connemara is the ideal location for walkers, with an abundance of mountains, lakes, rivers and sea locations just waiting to be explored. Connemara National Park, covers 2,957 hectares of scenic mountains, expanses of bogs, heaths, grasslands and woodlands, providing an array of fantastic walking and hiking trails. With our comprehensive knowledge of the area, we will be delighted to help you discover the breath-taking beauty of Connemara!
