Mature landscape surrounds this family-run property, which has a view of the well-known Munster Blackwater river. There is a 4-acre private island with our resident goats and a 1.5-km private river walk.
The B&B feels like you are on your own and has its own living quarters in two different wings of the house. There is a river on the property with garden views features and a communal lounge.

The view is amazing, the rooms were clean & pleasant. It is a bit awkward sharing a bathroom (& hand towel) with other guests. And it was the only B&B we stayed at where there was an additional charge for full breakfast. But Valerie was super sweet and her insider information about things just off the beaten path led us to find some spectacular things not on our original list.

Fantastic property and friendly hosts. However, we were disappointed to discover that a full breakfast was not included with our stay. Upon checking out, we were surprised to learn we had only been entitled to a continental breakfast -- that anything more was subject to additional fees. That was not explained upon our arrival and this unexpected policy contrasted with our other B&B visits.

Corrin Forest Hill: Corrin's forested hill is a well-known feature. The hill rises from the surrounding plain to a top elevation of 222 metres (728 feet), offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Corrin Wood is an extremely old location. The summit mound, known as "Carn Thiernagh," is over 3,000 years old and represents the Bronze Age. It is said that the Druid Mogh Ruith is buried here. There are the ruins of an early Iron Age ring fort surrounding the peak. In 1933, a massive stone cross was built on the mountain. When lit up at night for holidays like Christmas and Easter, it presents a striking sight.
Labbacallee Wedge Tomb: The largest wedge tomb in Ireland is the Labbacallee Wedge Tomb. The shape of these megalithic structures—which taper off in width and height from front to back—gives rise to its name. They are primarily found in Ireland's west and are the most frequent megalithic tombs discovered there. They mostly belong to the Early Bronze Age and Late Neolithic eras. The tomb features three enormous buttress stones at the back and three big capstones, the greatest of which weighs ten tonnes.
Mitchelstown Caves : One of Europe's most magnificent caves. The unique shapes, colours, formations, and history of the cave make for an intriguing visit. One of Ireland's biggest and most intricate cave systems is Mitchelstown Cave. On the guided tour, you will explore massive caves with incomprehensible dripstone formations, stalactites, stalagmites, enormous calcite pillars, and one of Europe's finest columns—the inspirational "Tower of Babel," which is about nine metres tall—as well as ancient passageways.
