- Q1. Can you give directions to the B&B?
Yes, using our "Google Maps" search facility indicates your starting point and arrival destination and google maps will generate directions for you.
- Q2. What are the check in times?
Check in times are normally between 3pm – 6pm, unless otherwise agreed with your host/hostess.
- Q3. Are the homes checked by B&B Ireland.com?
When you choose to book a bed and breakfast property with B&B Ireland you are choosing homes that have been approved by the Irish Tourism Standards Board and B&B Ireland's Quality Framework. This is an assurance of quality and service.
Premises suitable for disabled persons have been graded by Comhairle or in the past by the National Rehabilitation Board. Please refer to facilities options.
With the exception of Guide Dogs, in the interest of hygiene pets are not allowed inside the premises. Some homes cater for pets outside the premises. Look for details under Facilities for each house and check when booking.

Visa, MasterCard and Eurocard are accepted practically everywhere in service and retail outlets. Diners Club and American Express cards are also accepted by many outlets. Maestro and EDC (European Debit Card) are accepted in most places which accept Visa and MasterCard. The majority of our homes accept credit cards (see facilities in "Search for Accommodation"). Most of these homes accept Visa, MasterCard and some accept American Express. How does the ETA affect travel across the Ireland-Northern Ireland border?
From 2025, you will need an ETA to visit Northern Ireland – whether you're arriving there directly or via the Republic of Ireland.
People arriving in the UK, including those travelling from Ireland into Northern Ireland, need to enter in line with the UK’s immigration framework, including obtaining an ETA if required.
This includes those travelling from Ireland into Northern Ireland for day trips or trips of up six months for tourism, visiting family and friends, business or short-term study.
You do not need an ETA to visit the Republic of Ireland.
An ETA costs £16 per applicant and is valid for multiple journeys to Northern Ireland within two years.

Reservations
- Q1. Looking to make a reservation
First, run a search for accommodation on our homepage. Type the location you wish to stay in the search box and enter in the date and number of people in the party, then click Search.
From the resulting list of B&Bs you can choose the B&B you wish to stay in and add it to your cart. Repeat this for as many B&Bs as you need for your holiday. When you have all your B&Bs selected, click My Cart and proceed through the checkout process. You will pay a small deposit/commission now to secure the rooms and the balance to each B&B when you stay there.
- Q2. Is it advisable to pre-book our holiday?
It is advisable to pre-book first and last night's accommodation in advance at all times. Rooms in Dublin City and County can be difficult to find unless accommodation is pre-booked. If visiting the capital city, we strongly advise pre-booking all accommodation well in advance. Never count on finding rooms at short notice in Dublin, always reserve in advance.
- Q3. What is meant by Ensuite and Standard Rooms?
An Ensuite room is a room with its own private facilities such as shower/bath, toilet and hand basin. A Standard room does not have these private facilities. The bathroom resides outside the room and is shared with other guests in the B&B home.
- Q4. I added rooms to my cart and came back a few hours later and they were gone. What happened?
Each time you add a room to your cart, it actually removes the availability for that room from the B&B to prevent double-booking. There is a timeout on the cart of 1 hour for each room to prevent that room being permanently locked by being placed in a cart.
Rooms
- Q1. What are the different Room Types?
There are six main room types:
Single - A room with a Single bed suitable for one occupant.
