This was one of the worst places I stayed. The owner does NOT take credit cards and the WiFi doesn’t work. My room had several dead bugs in it, as well as many spider webs. There was a broken window that was stuck open, making the room very cold at night. Breakfast was not good— the eggs were dry and rubbery. Do not recommend staying here.

We had a very nice stay in Randwick for 4 nights. Our host John turned out to be a good conversionalist. He told us many interesting stories and pointed out somme interesting places to visit. The room was large and comfortable. The breakfast copieus. The house is situated well and has a great view.

I booked Randwick with about a month notice during the summer, which made me grateful to find an accommodation at all. I booked through this site but never received communication directly from Randwick which caused me some trepidation and so I reached out via email and phone until I luckily got a response a couple of days before flying from afar, and the response felt as though my outreach was a bit of a nuisance. I explained that international travel solo without personal connection confirmation felt risky. Here are a few points I hope will help others in making a good-fit decision for their vacation: 1. John is running the bnb solo but has an adult family member living in an adjacent room. 2. The Irish breakfast John makes is incredibly tasty and prepared, I'd say the highlight of the hospitality. 3. My room was clean but I had to purchase my own hand soap and shower soap at the grocery store which surprised me, 4. The location of the home is stellar, however the front room isn't exclusively for guests so seeing the view requires sitting outside or maybe requesting a room with the view (which I unfortunately wasn't given) 5. The wifi router is outdated and had no connectivity at times and my international service of 4g at the property wasn't very strong either. I think this point is really important for anyone doing remote work to know in advance. 5. Ballyshannon is about 1.5 miles walk along a very busy 2-lane highway, which I hadn't expected. This matters for travelers who plan to stay without a car, as I did. Spending time in town means 20-30 minute walk each way on the side of the highway, depending on your walk speed. John was kind enough to pick me up and drive me from the bus in town on arrival and departure- it's a short drive but still helpful because uber is astronomically pricey for a 1 mile drive! Also, because of the lack of communication prior to arrival I had no idea that cash was required for payment and this website says 'accepts credit cards' with a fine print saying to reach out to owner to clarify. While I am grateful for hospitality, I also think it helps when making expensive trips abroad for guests to have way more information than I received from this site or the owner. I think this stay is probably a good fit for drive-through overnight guests and who don't require great wifi access during the quick stay.

I enjoyed my stay here. It’s located in a great location nearby to Ballyshannon and Bundoran. I was served a delicious breakfast in the morning. Give it a try if you’re in the Donegal area.

Had a wonderful one night stay as we drove around Ireland on 29 April 2023. Randwick is an older home that is well kept. John was a great host that gave us advice on restaurant choices in Bundoran. Had a great conversation after returning from dinner. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices. We would stay again.
