Ideal for fans of the John Ford film The Quiet Man, the village of Cong, where the film was made, is just 2km from the cosy bed and breakfast. Visitors can even explore the Quiet Man Cottage Museum, take a guided tour of the film’s locations and discover more about the famous 1950s film. Golf, lake cruises and picturesque walks are also on the doorstep.

How to get here

• If you are coming from the North/Ballinrobe, after the village of The Neale watch out for the turn off for Cong to the right. At the Ashford Castle Entrance Gate/Towers turn left and watch out, at the end of the high wall on the right, for the turn off on the right for Michaeleen’s Manor B&B. Turn right onto the Quay Road/Lisloughrey/Strandhill. Michaeleen’s Manor B&B is on the left.
• If you are coming from the South/East/Galway, in Cross watch out for the turn off to the left for Cong. After 2 miles you’ll see Fahy Car Sales on the right, then after the bend in the road you will see a sign for Corrib Cruises to the left and Michaeleen’s Manor B&B to the left at the start of a high wall. Turn left onto the Quay Road/Lisloughrey/Strandhill. Michaeleen’s Manor B&B is on the left.
• If you are coming from the West/Connemara, come through Cong village and at the stone cross in the middle of the road, take a left and once you pass the Ashford Castle Entrance Gate/Towers on the right slow down and watch out, at the end of the high wall on the right, for the turn off on the right for Michaeleen’s Manor B&B. Turn right onto the Quay Road/Lisloughrey/Strandhill. Michaeleen’s Manor B&B is on the right.

We had a wonderful time here. If you are into John Wayne and Quiet Man, this is the place for you. So much history with that movie and the owners are adorable and charming. Breakfast was very good with stories and fun jokes. I rish hospitality at it's best.

Great! This B&B was great. The hosts were so friendly and fun. The room was clean and spacious. The laundry facility was clean and had huge folding tables. Highly recommend.

This was a great choice for our 2 night stay. Everything clean and plenty of room. Breakfast was cooked to order and was very good! Plus, I'm a huge fan of Quiet Man so it added an extra touch of being awesome!

More like a hotel than a B&B. Room was very large and comfortable, with a spacious bathroom. There is no carpeting anywhere, so it’s very loud and echoey.

Surpris car nous pensions à un b&b chez l habitant hors cela ressemble plus à un hôtel, nous avons récupéré la clé de nos 2 chambres attenantes (pratique avec enfants) à l accueil du camping en face. Très bon petit déjeuner irlandais au choix + libre service sur la partie sucrée.
