Hello, we are Joyce and Mervyn Norris, your hosts, at Trean House. We run a working sheep farm. In Mervyns spare time he enjoys fishing and growing fruit and vegetables. I like to go walking and ceilidh dancing. We have been a Bed and Breakfast home since 1995 and enjoy very much meeting people from all over the world and indeed have made many good friends over the years. Host was so extremely friendly and welcoming, food was delicious, house was so clean and comfortable, I would highly recommend to family and friends.

The Trean house a été tout simplement pour nous un petit coin de paradis. Nous avons tout particulièrement été touchés par l'accueil amical et authentique des propriétaires, tous les deux très attachants. La maison est cosy, le petit déjeuner copieux, le pain maison délicieux. Que de bons souvenirs nous garderons aussi de la magnifique plage à 5 minutes et de la péninsule sauvage d'Innishowen. The Trean house was simply a little corner of paradise for us. We were particularly touched by the friendly and authentic welcome from the owners. The house is cozy, the breakfast plentiful, the homemade bread delicious. What good memories we will also keep of the magnificent beach 5 minutes away and the wild peninsula of Innishowen.

_The Farm: Rolling green farmland surrounds Trean House, stretching gently down to the coast. Sheep roam the 125 acre farm that is managed according to the best environmental practices. With its neatly stone walled fields, streams, wooded glens and beautiful views over Tremone Bay, guests will find great peace and tranquility here. There’s never a dull moment on the farm, each season brings something different.
Adventure Sports: Feeling adventurous? Why not go river rafting or sea kayaking with Inish Adventures based in Moville. Climb some of the most adventurous rock faces in Europe with a qualified trainer from Donegal Climbing
Attractions: Inishowen hosts a diverse range of attractions. Local favourites include: Inishowen Maritime Museum and Planetarium, Doagh Island Famine Village, Grianan of Aileach ring fort, and Fort Dunree. A visit to Irelands’ most northerly point, Malin Head is also a must.
Beaches: There’s dozens of beautiful sandy beaches to take the kids to: Tremone, Culdaff, Kinnagoe, Shroove, Pollan, Lisfannon, Five Fingers Strand…and many more. Or you could go for a walk from Moville to Greencastle and collect sea glass along the Foyle.
Festivals: The Irish love nothing more than an excuse to party! Summer time is festival time, with small festivals and sports days taking place at towns and villages across the peninsula. Popular events include: St. Patricks Day, Errigal Arts Festival, Donegal International Rally, Charles Macklin Autumn School, Moville Vintage Car Rally, Buncrana Music and Arts Festival, Raft races at Moville, Culdaff and Malin town, Moville Regatta.
Fishing and Sea Angling: Fresh atlantic water, numerous wrecks and excellent beaches make Inishowen the ideal place for an angling holiday. A sea angling festival takes place every year at Culdaff, and charter boats are also available to hire from Bunagee Pier, Culdaff.
Food & Drink: Discover great pubs and restaurants offering the finest of Irish cuisine. Try McGrorys of Culdaff for superb local produce, or Rosatos of Moville. Traditional music sessions are held regularly in pubs throughout the peninsula, including McGrorys and Rawdons Bar, Moville.
Golf: Inishowen hosts many great courses including Greencastle, North West Golf Club (Fahan) and the highly acclaimed Ballyliffin Golf Club, which has hosted several prestigous competitions. Or take the ferry from Greencastle and visit Royal Portrush for the day.
Heritage: Inishowen boasts a wealth of ancient Irish heritage, with Celtic monuments scattered across the peninsula. Notable sites include: Bocan Stone Circle, Celtic Cross at Clonca (pictured), Donagh Cross at Carndonagh, Grianan of Aileach at Burt, High Cross at Carrowmore.

Walking and Cycling: With peaceful roads and stunning rugged scenery, Inishowen is the ideal place to go walking and cycling. Hillwalkers.com has a selection of routes mapped out. Wildlife: Inishowen’s unrivalled natural beauty and unique habitat is host to a wide array of birds and marine life.
