My two friends and I stayed at the Arkle house for the night. We had a wonderful time. Our host was very accommodating and even pushed breakfast back when we asked to sleep in. We even had a phone crisis that she helped us out with. Overall, this was one of the best places we have stayed.

Arkle House is a lovely historic home, lovingly restored to authentic grandeur. The rooms and beds are comfortable and Sally made and served a very good breakfast in the morning. Though there was some confusion about our reservation, they were able to give us the 2 promised rooms for the night and kindly point us in the direction of restaurant for dinner. I would recommend confirming your reservation with the host before your arrival.

Aproximately around the 3rd of July we made a reservaton at Arkle House (the reference is BB-01580293) to arrive the 11th of August. When we got there one famiily was at the door waiting for the lady /they were four), later on a couple came. When the lady arrived at the building she inmediately told the family and the other couple (Although they arrived later than us) to follow her upstairs so she could show them their bedrooms. Meanwhile we were told to wait downstairs. Later on she told us that although we had made more than one month ago a reservation we had not entered in the system (but she had my name written on the paper and she knew that we were coming and she did not give us any call) She told us she found another bed and brekfast 3 minutes (It was longer than that) and we said yes. This bed and breakfast was very far away from the City Center so we had to arrange and call bed and breakfast so they can help us to relocate in a near place but it was no use we got help. The kind lady of the bed and breakfast Elaghvale helped us to relocate. We are really upset with Arkle House, we had been in 8 bed and breakfast andthis was the only time we were so upset. Beware that Arkle House does not keep your reservations you may arrive and she may not have any rooms available.

Hello and thank you for your review. Although we try our best, we occasionally get it wrong and in your case we certainly got it wrong. I apologise to you for the undoubted inconvenience we caused you and hope it didn't spoil your holiday too much. Best regards Sally

My daughter and I stayed at the Ankle house for 2 nights during our trip to Ireland. The owners were welcoming, the home was charming, and the food was delicious. After long day trips it was so nice to stay in a clean and quiet room.

We had a 2 night stay at the Arkle House. It was one of the nicest facilities we used on our 3 week tour of Ireland and Scotland. The rooms are excellent. Breakfasts are beautifully prepared and full of a variety of hot or cold choices. Sally makes the family lounge available for her guests and is very welcoming and willing to visit. She and Terry went out of their way to give us advice on how to go about searching for information on ancestors. They helped us with local attractions, as well. We accidentally left some personal items behind and they took good care of them until we returned to retrieve them. If we return to Ireland we hope to be able to stay there again.
