Woodview house is situated within walking distance of Achill Sound village, where you will find traditional pubs, local shops and restaurants. The vast Western Greenway is also located on our doorstep with plenty to explore. With multiple beaches including the award winning Keem beach and a variety of outdoor activities to suit everyone, Achill Island is a much loved and popular holiday destination.

We had a wonderful stay on Achill Island. The accommodations were comfortable and we had all we needed. The breakfast was very nice. The host had a family emergency, and I do hope all is well now. The host handled the difficulty with grace and still provided the care to all the guests. I appreciate how hospitable they all were in the face of a difficult personal situation.

Horse-riding, walking or cycling: The Mayo Gaeltacht wilderness is best explored on foot, by bicycle, or by horseback. There are many different types of terrain in the environment. But most importantly, you can breathe in the fresh air from an unspoiled environment. Achill Island has a fantastic selection of short hikes, hill hikes, and paths with clear signs. The terrain ranges from flat to easy to difficult mountain climbs, requiring specialised equipment. Whatever you decide, the views are always breath-taking and the trails are virtually always quiet.
Keem Bay : One of Ireland's most gorgeous tiny beaches is Keem Bay, which is located near the western tip of Achill Island. Clean white dunes gently descend into the bay's turquoise seas. The bay is protected by cliffs on either side of the beach, which is surrounded by grassy slopes and is home to a wide range of flora and animals. From Benmore to Achill Head, there is a beautiful clifftop hike.
