Great place, clean, spacious room. We headed out very early so skipped breakfast, but we got a good night's sleep and had a great dinner nearby in Sligo.

Host's Reply:
Chantal thank you so much for your lovely review. I regret that you could not stay for breakfast, but I hope you enjoyed the Giants Causeway. I am pleased you had an enjoyable dinner. Hopefully we shall meet again as it was my pleasure having you. Have a healthy and happy Christmas and all your wishes fulfilled in 2018. Kind regards, Mary.

We got to Mary's place and she called me by my last name. She said "hello nice to meet you" offered us tea, showed us to our room and immediately asked what time we wanted breakfast. We JUST got there and she just wanted to get the logistics out of the way instead of conversing with us then she disappeared immediately. She didn't suggest any places to eat, never asked where we came from or what are plans were, she wasn't friendly like these other reviews suggested. We got tea and that was it. We waited around 20 minutes (because we had no idea where she was) so I could ask her about the Sligo museum and when I finally did she was talking to me with the door half closed and it's as if she couldn't get away soon enough. She never smiled and we didn't feel welcomed in her home. I was so excited to experience what it's like to do a B&B and experience Irish hospitality and Mary had no interest in us. She was our first B&B experience in Ireland and our first interaction so that really upset me. We knew she was not a fair representation of Ireland. There is no other reason why she would act this way except for me being BLACK or because my husband is WHITE and we're in an interracial marriage. Every other B&B we went to was amazing and made us feel so welcomed. I told other people in Ireland how Mary treated us and they were in SHOCK. The only good thing she offered was a clean room and delicious breakfast. She made things really awkward and uncomfortable for us. Please believe I will tell everyone NOT to go to this B&B. It wasn't even my first choice but the other B&B needed to cancel. So thank you Mary for your poor treatment of me and my husband.

We loved staying here. The room was very nice and breakfast was delicious. We were given coffee and cookies when we arrived and Mary provided a list of restaurants for us to consider. Don't miss the one she marked as "best"! The location is not close enough for walking into town but the drive is short and parking lots in Sligo are easy to find, so this wasn't a problem for us. There's so much to see and do in Sligo. This was our favorite place.
