The location of Newlands Country Home is fantastic. The room we stayed in was clean and pretty. Breakfast was good. Host, Nicola, seemed very busy, but she was knowledgeable about the area and keeps a beautiful home.

This home was the cleanest B&B with the largest rooms and best parking accommodations that we encountered. Nicola does not have the most warm and fuzzy personality but efficient she is...and spot on with her directions and restaurant recommendations. Scones would have been nice at breakfast but otherwise breakfast was excellent.

Home was beautiful, spotlessly clean, and room was spacious. We were required to make a "reservation" for our breakfast time and the meal was a bit disappointing. Additionally, instead of the lovely scones and brown bread we had become accustomed to at multiple other B&Bs, we had a basket of cold white toast with one slice of brown bread for three people (and we had an early reservation time). Nicola was helpful with directions and restaurant suggestions for dinner but was not very friendly in the morning. Proximity to Kilkenny and accommodations were nice but we didn't receive the traditional warm hospitality as with other B&Bs. Newlands Country House is run more like an impersonal hotel rather than what we expect at a B&B.

The best B&B on our trip. Beautiful room . Wife can't wait to come back. Just south of town. Well worth the drive. Look for the wildlife out back and the wild black bunnies that visit in the evenings.
