Daniel and Majella Gear up for B&B Road Trip

Firstly let me say, well done to Daniel for doing so well on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. He did Donegal and Ireland proud! Who knew the Donegal crooner was so light on his feet? Well, after his stint on ‘Strictly’ he deserves a well-earned rest and what better way to relax and unwind than by taking a B&B Road Trip around Ireland?!

Six Week TV Series

Daniel and Majella Gear up for B&B Road TripDaniel and his lovely wife Majella are about to grace our TV screens with a six week television series that sees them staying in various bed and breakfasts around Ireland. The first show airs on UTV Ireland on Monday 26th October, at 8pm. Each week, we’ll see Daniel and Majella stay with an Irish family where they immerse themselves in the bed and breakfast experience. They also take part in a range of activities, including tractor racing in Enniskerry, County Wicklow, paddle-boarding in Bantry Bay, Cork and heavens above, rocking out at a house party in Newtownabbey, County Antrim.

They had a ball!

Daniel and Majella Gear up for B&B Road TripBy all accounts, they had a wail of a time. Speaking about their B&B Road Trip, Majella said “We really enjoyed it, it was lovely. I felt that we really did reach the heart of Ireland. When you’re in cities all the time, the old Irish ways can get lost, but I feel that we really did reach the heart of Ireland, so in that respect, it was really good.” Daniel concurred by adding “The fact that we got to interact with so many different people was, for me, the best part. It was lovely to see Ireland and travel Ireland. I have travelled Ireland umpteen times, but not with that eye that’s enjoying it when you’re just trying to get somewhere. Ireland has so much to offer – whether you’re by the coast or inland.”

Daniel’s Recommendations

Daniel and Majella Gear up for B&B Road TripPersonally, I can’t wait for the show to begin, I’ve heard it’s going to be a really fun series and shows what a fantastic couple Daniel and Majella are, always up for the craic! It’ll also be great for our B&B hosts across Ireland to get the recognition they deserve. Daniel couldn’t have summed it up any better when he said “As well as it being a business for them, I think their heart and soul is in it. They’re really passionate and they want to make the stay for those people that are there, as good as it can be. For me, who would travel outside Ireland a lot, that’s a lovely thing! I certainly would have no qualms about recommending them. The enthusiasm and the interest they have in what they do is terrific.”

Here are some of the bed and breakfasts that will be featuring on Daniel and Majella's B&B Road Trip:

Edencrest B&B - Bantry, Co Cork | Celtic House - Kilkenny City, Kilkenny | Coolkay House - Enniskerry, Co Wicklow

So if you want to experience the real Ireland, take Daniel and Majella’s lead and book the perfect bed and breakfast break. Choose from over 900 quality approved B&Bs in Ireland.
