Newpark House Celebrates 50 Years in Business!

Newpark House celebrates 50 years in BusinessIt all began back in 1960, when Bernie married Earnan and Newpark House in Ennis, County Clare, became their family home. Bernie enjoyed meeting people and so decided a great way to supplement their family income was to take in lodgers. In 1966, Bernie became aware of a new organisation called ‘Irish Farmhouse Holiday’, so she went to an Grianan to learn the details of setting up a B&B and then joined the new association. In 1970, Irish Farm House Holidays and Country Homes Association amalgamated and was renamed B&B Ireland.

Wish you Were Here

It is an historic home, dating back to the 18th century and is decorated with wonderful antiques, enjoys a large library of books on Irish history for guests to read and has a fine collection of historical prints. It’s no wonder that guests return time and time again to Newpark House. Danabel Porridge Bread Recipe

I started making my Porridge Bread about a year ago. It was so popular with guests that I carried on making it. Now, I make it everyday and leave it on the breakfast table for my guests to help themselves. I am always complimented on how tasty it is. The wonderful thing about this recipe is that it is so easy to prepare, yet so delicious!
