Ring of Kerry Beaches | Places to Visit Kerry

Spring is here and summer is just around the corner and you know what that means? School breaks, vacations and some well deserved leisure time!

Summer is usually deemed to be the best time to enjoy the beach. However, in Ireland, we often experience four seasons in one day, but that doesn't stop us enjoying our beaches all year round. We have the most spectacular coastline and our beaches are a place to sit, walk and soak up the natural beauty on our coastal shores.

My Favourite Kerry Beaches

Derrynane Beach is a blue flag beach located just off the Ring of Kerry and is adjacent to the Derrynane National Park. If you can imagine white sands to lay your head upon, clear waters to bathe in and a large stretch of caves and small beaches to explore, then you've got Derrynane Beach in mind.

The Glen’s Beach - St. Finian’s Bay is situated between the picturesque villages of Portmagee and Ballinskelligs on the Skellig Ring Drive. It is truly a surfer’s haven, so is perfect if you are an adventurous traveller looking for a unique experience.

Top Tip

Drop into the Skellig's Chocolate Factory which is just 300m from the beach. It is truly magical and has stunning views. The kids will LOVE it. Have your camera at the ready, as you won’t want to miss this….

Inch Strand Dingle is really popular with anglers and holidaymakers alike, with 2.5km of sandy beach and dramatic coastal scenery. Interestingly, the classic film “Ryan’s Daughter” and “Playboy of the Western World” was shot on location at Inch Strand.

So whether your visit to Kerry is for some relaxing me time, to have fun with the family or to just to take a dip in the Atlantic Ocean, there'll be plenty of sandy, secluded and stunning beaches to choose from. Why not choose to stay in a Ring of Kerry B&B accommodation as there is a great selection of homes dotted around the area and close to all these lovely beaches.
